I Can't Believe It!

It hit me a couple of days ago -- the son that I use to be able to look in the eyes has eyes that are now slightly higher up than they use to be! He's taller than me!! Those of you who have older children can relate but this is a totally new thing to me! My first born, my little son that use to have those cute, chubby cheeks has now grown into a man/boy. Even worse, he'll be a high schooler this fall. Part of me wants my little baby back and part of me is so excited about how he's growing up and changing. He'd probably be mad at me for talking about him but I'm extremely proud -- to-the-point-of-tears proud. I'm also happy that he seems to be getting his height from my 6'4" brother instead of Jav and I! Love you Jesse!

Book Recommendation

I went to a women's event at my Aunt's church last night. Fun girls night out with lots of talking and CAKE! Anyway, the speaker was an author named Shauna Niequist who wrote Cold Tangerines. I had already read the book and was excited to hear her speak. Her book is a collection of short stories about things that have happened in her life. I guarantee that you will relate to at least one or more of her stories and that they all will touch you. Go out and buy the book -- it's around $10 on Amazon or you can get a used one even cheaper! You won't be disappointed!

We all went to Torrey Pines the other day to walk around. Don't I live in a beautiful place?!?

Easter Sunday

On Easter Sunday we went to church with Jav's sister, our brother-in-law, and our two nieces. Ater that it was a spur-of-the moment decision to catch a Padre game. It was a beautiful day!

Yeah, I finally figured out how to upload pictures. I told you...be patient with me! Anyway, here are a few from middle school winter camp back in January. Jav and I both went as counselors with Jesse and Jillian.

Can you believe this is my first blog ever? Thought I'd jump on the band wagon and make a place where friends and family can check up on us. Obviously, I'm just getting started and it will take a few days of troubleshooting until I figure all this out (like downloading pictures and how to make the tilde above the "n" in our last name -- very important, you know!)
